Questions About Our Mixes, Shipping and Stocking
Everything people ask us about the five categories, how long each mix takes, what is inside the pack and how retailers can stock The Spice Cabinet.
Group 01
Spice Mixes
Each mix contains whole spices that are cleaned, roasted and ground in small batches along with salt where the recipe needs it. We do not use artificial colour or artificial flavour and every ingredient is printed in full on the pouch.
An unopened pouch keeps its flavour for nine months from the packing date printed on the label. Once opened, keep it sealed in a dry place away from direct sunlight and use it within three months for the best aroma.
They are balanced rather than aggressive. Heat is present but it sits underneath the aroma, so you can raise it with fresh chilli if your household prefers a sharper edge.
No. Each mix is complete for the dish it is made for. You only add your fresh ingredients such as onion, tomato, oil or your main protein.

Breakfast Mixes
Most mixes are ready in five to six minutes with hot water alone. The batter-based mixes such as chilla and dhirde take eight to ten minutes because they are cooked on a pan.
The upma, poha and oats mixes need only hot water, so a kettle is enough. The batter mixes need a pan and a heat source because they are cooked like a pancake.
Depending on the mix you will find semolina, flattened rice, oats, millets, gram flour, lentils, dried vegetables and a tempering of mustard, curry leaves, turmeric and chilli. Every ingredient is listed in full on the pack.
Yes. The seasoning is mild by design so the same bowl works for adults and children, and you can add heat separately at the table if you prefer it sharper.
Group 03
Bake Mixes
You need an oven or a convection microwave, a mixing bowl, a spatula and the tin size printed on the pack. A stand mixer is never required because every mix is designed to be folded by hand.
The chocolate cake and cookie mixes are eggless and use milk or curd. The brownie and banana bread mixes list their wet ingredients on the pack and offer an eggless option in the instructions, so you can choose based on what your kitchen has.
Yes. Use convection mode at the stated temperature and check ten minutes before the end of the bake window because smaller cavities heat faster.
Absolutely. Nuts, chocolate chips, coffee, orange zest and dried fruit all work. Keep additions under one hundred grams so the batter structure stays sound.

Drink Premixes
Yes. Every pack prints both a hot and a cold method. The cold coffee and rose milk premixes are formulated specifically to dissolve in chilled milk without settling at the bottom of the glass.
No. Twenty seconds of brisk stirring gives you a stable froth, and shaking the cold drinks in a closed jar gives an even thicker head of foam.
Sugar content is printed in grams on every pack and is set below typical cafe levels so you can sweeten to your own taste rather than work around ours.
Yes. Each sachet is sealed and shelf stable, needs only hot water or milk and is sized for a single cup, which makes the strips easy to carry in a bag or suitcase.
Group 05
Indian Sweet Mixes
The current range covers gulab jamun, sooji halwa, besan barfi, gajar halwa and rava kesari, which together cover most festival and everyday sweet occasions in an Indian household.
Rava kesari and sooji halwa are ready in twelve to fifteen minutes. Besan barfi and gajar halwa take twenty five to thirty minutes, and gulab jamun takes about thirty five minutes including the soak.
No. The sugar is already measured into every mix at the correct ratio, which is the step that most often goes wrong when mithai is made from scratch.
Halwa and kesari are best eaten the same day. Barfi keeps for four to five days in an airtight box and gulab jamun keeps for three days refrigerated in its syrup.

Still unanswered? Ask us directly on the contact page or read about the brand behind the mixes.
